Announcement: Modern Dentistry is one of Brooklyn’s Hurricane Sandy Donation Centers.

Modern Dentistry is now collecting donations for Brooklyn, New York residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. We are accepting: canned goods, bottled water, non perishable food, batteries, flashlights, cleaning supplies, diapers, formula, hygiene & sanitary products, and industrial garbage bags. Unfortunately most drop off centers are no longer accepting clothes. Thank you in advance for all the help.

Our address is: 1997 Ocean Avenue (between Avenue O&P). Brooklyn, NY 11230. (718) 339-6000. Hours for drop off: Sundays: 9am-3pm. Mondays through Thursdays 9am-8pm. Fridays 9am-3pm. Closed Saturday.

Every neighborhood in our city has been touched by Hurricane Sandy: from the extremes of the raging fires in Breezy Point and destruction in Rockaway where so many lost their homes, to the thousands of people still without power evacuated only 10 minutes from our office in Warbasse and Trump village. While many of us are now faced with the reality of rebuilding our houses and others are still kept from their homes, it’s times like these that our resilience as New Yorkers shines through, and our compassion for those who weren’t as lucky takes center stage.

You can do your part by donating to organizations such as the Red Cross, donate or volunteer through FEMA.gov, as well as find a list of emergency shelters, food and water distribution points and other helpful information at NYC.gov. And of course, you can always drop of your donations at Modern Dentistry (1997 Ocean Avenue (between Avenue O&P). Brooklyn, NY).

Today, the Modern Dentistry office remains open, and we are available to all our patients. As a dental practice operating in Brooklyn for nearly 30 years, it is in our best interest to remain available to our patients and the residents of Brooklyn. If you find yourself in need of oral health attention following the events of Hurricane Sandy, or perhaps you had an appointment with us, or another dental practice that is too hard to access with limited transportation, Modern Dentistry is here for you.

These are difficult times for Brooklynites, and our neighbors in the surrounding boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, the rest of the east coast and abroad. But it’s times like these that we see the best that people have to offer. If you were lucky enough to remain largely unaffected by the storm, please find some way to help your neighbors. If you have any questions or needs, don’t hesitate to contact us. Modern Dentistry is here for you.
