Having healthy teeth and gums doesn’t have to be difficult. By following a short daily routine and visiting your Brooklyn dentist regularly, you can have health gums, great breath and white teeth. The first step is outlining a plan and sticking to it. So we at Modern Dentistry have put together a daily routine that anyone can stick to that can help you on your way to a great smile. And remember, if you need to schedule an appointment with a Brooklyn dentist, give us a call today: (718)-339-6000.

  • Brush at least twice a day using toothpaste with fluoride: This seems obvious but make sure you’re brushing for a full two minutes, brushing your gums and teeth and using toothpaste with fluoride.
  • Clean your tongue Daily: Brushing your tongue will help remove bacteria that causes bad breath. Using a tongue cleaning tool, scrape the tongue from the back to the tip, then rinse your mouth with mouth wash.
  • Floss at least once a day: Flossing can help remove some of additional food and plaque that brushing alone may miss. If possible try to floss at least once a day. Start by gentling inserting the floss between your teeth moving back and forth. Be sure to be gentle as not to damage your gum tissue.
  • Limit Snacks and drink water after sugary treats: Limiting snacking can help you avoid plaque and cavities. If you have a sugary treat like fruit or candy, follow it with a glass of water. Avoid brushing as the sugar weakens your enamel and brushing at that point could cause damage.

A simple daily routine like this will take less than fifteen minutes and you’ll be on your way to a great smile! And if you’d like to learn more about improving your oral health, please visit us at www.moderndentistry.com
