Daniel Bernstein, DDS

In his almost 30 years of practice, Dr. Daniel Bernstein is an outstanding and accomplished dentist with extensive training and has achieved accreditation from every major dental association in the country. Dr. Bernstein graduated top of his class from New York University College of Dentistry in 1982, receiving the award for Greatest Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. He opened Modern Dentistry in 1983 with the vision to create a practice where excellent dentists work side by side with the top specialists under one roof, to provide his patients optimal care. He takes an integrative, open-minded and innovative approach to dentistry, and is regarded by many of his peers as a leader and expert in the field.

Diane Neman, DDS

Dr. Diane Neman provides comprehensive oral care to her patients through an emphasis on preventative dentistry and the management of existing dental conditions. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and believes that building strong and long lasting relationships with her patients is the key to providing individually tailored quality care. After graduating with Honors Cum Laude from New York University, Dr. Neman went on to receive her DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She completed her residency in general dentistry at Lutheran Medical center with advanced educational training in public health care at the Heritage Community Health center.

Sofia Vrataric, DMD

Dr. Sofia Vrataric is an experienced dental clinician with sharp diagnostic skills and a friendly bedside manner. She has a strong commitment to helping her patient’s identify and achieve their most ambitious oral health goals. Dr. Vrataric graduated from Hunter University with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and published her research work in genetics. She then went on to receive her DMD degree from Tufts University in 2006. Dr. Vrataric has since traveled around the globe doing volunteer work with children in third world countries.

Robert Gordon, DDS

Dr. Gordon graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1997 and continued his education in a residency program in Periodontics, as well as additional oral surgery training. He was then accepted to one of the nation’s top-ranked art schools, Savannah School of Art and Design, Master’s program of Fine Arts in Painting. Dr. Gordon now limits his practice to the art and science of facial aesthetics. He is an Associate Professor at SUNY University of Buffalo Orthodontic Dept. with a special concentration on Ortho Facial Aesthetics, where he teaches doctors from around the nation and world on the science of facial aesthetics. His passion for art and facial aesthetics shines through in his unique approach to lip and perioral augmentation: a direct result of his background in art education. Dr. Gordon lectures often, instructing oral facial augmenters on his classification, diagnostic and reconstructive lip and perioral augmentation techniques. This lead to him being affectionately called Dr. Lips by his patients and colleagues.

Andrew Kim, DDS

Dr. Andrew Kim is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon as well as an implantologist. After graduating the Pennsylvania State University, he went on to receive his dental degree from Columbia University in 1995. Andrew completed his four year Oral Surgery residency in Metropolitan Hospital. He has years of advanced specialty training and multiple areas of expertise ranging from dental implants to wisdom tooth removal and bone grafting. He can also diagnose and treat oral pathology and TMJ disorders and performs a full range of procedures. Dr. Kim is a state-of-the-art, Oral Surgeon utilizing the latest technologies and tools available to give his patients top of the line care.

Dr. Villa, DMD

Dr. Villa is a Board Certified Periodontist. She graduated Rutgers University and went on to receive her dental degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1997. Dr. Villa did her residency at the NJ Veterans Administration, after which she decided to specialize in Periodontics. She completed her three year Periodontics program at University of Pennsylvania. She has years of advanced specialty training and multiple areas of expertise ranging from Surgical and Non Surgical modalities of treating periodontal disease, to bone grafts and dental implants. Dr.Villa is passionate about what he does and enjoys working with his fellow colleagues in a collaborative effort to deliver top results to her patients and their goals.

Julia Dyuh, B.S, R.D.H

Julia is a registered dental hygienist and received her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the New York University Dental Hygiene program, graduating with honors at the top of her class. Julia’s goal is to deliver quality, caring and professional care to her patients that will benefit them for a lifetime. As an experienced practitioner, she works closely with each patient to deliver all their individual hygiene needs and develop a prevention plan. Her primary role as hygienist with Modern Dentistry involves the full administration of comprehensive hygiene needs including thorough and deep cleanings, preventative treatments such as sealants, and the prevention and detection of oral diseases through her trained diagnostic skills for oral cancer screenings and other diseases.

Sasha Meltsin, B.S, R.D.H

After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College, Sasha attended the New York University Dental Hygiene program where she graduated with honors at the top of her class. She received the Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award and the Award for Professionalism on graduation. Sasha is committed to educating her patients in their oral health care and her years of experience enables her to provide them with the best hygiene treatments available. Sasha is a registered Dental Hygienist.

Valeriya

Like our other hygienists, Valerya also graduated from New York University’s Dental hygiene program. She completed her BS of Science in the four year dental hygiene program  at NYU College of Dentistry, becoming a registered hygienist.  For Valeriya, it’s all about patient satisfaction. She has experience with patients of all ages, including small children after having worked at a pediatric clinic for some time. As a dental hygienist with Modern Dentistry, Valeriya loves teaching her patients about oral health and works thoroughly to deliver comprehensive quality care that enables her patients reach their goals.. Born in Ukraine, Valeriya grew up in Brooklyn, where she loves spending time with her friends and family.

Igor

Igor’s position as a dental assistant with Modern Dentistry provides him with the opportunity to not only assist the general dentists and surgeons, but to interact with patients on a daily basis, and of course, being able to see the end results first hand. Igor (or “Jack” to his friends) gets a great deal of satisfaction from speaking with Modern Dentistry’s patients after a successful and pain-free appointment. Originally from Riga, Latvia, when Igor is not working he enjoys skiing, as well as 3D modeling and animation.

Irina

Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, Irina has been with Modern Dentistry since 1995. As the Office Manager, Irina has been an intricate part of Modern Dentistry’s growth and progress throughout her time here. Her devotion to Modern Dentistry is unwavering and her favorite part of working here is being able to help the patients through their treatment from start to finish. She especially loves seeing their beautiful smiles and satisfaction at the end of their treatment! When not working, Irena enjoys playing tennis, reading, spending time with friends and going for walks on the beach.

Olga

Olga has been with Modern Dentistry since 2007. Originally from Kishinev, Moldova where she studied economics, her favorite part of the job is meeting new people and introducing new patients to Modern Dentistry’s staff and doctors. As the Senior Administrator, Olga has just about done it all, from handling claims and insurance, scheduling appointments and everything in between. When not working, Olga enjoys crochet and knitting. She also loves photography and using Photoshop.

Anna

As the front desk manager of Modern Dentistry, Anna especially enjoys working with her colleagues in order to implement tasks and reach goals that create the best experience for our patients. Anna’s constant smile and warm personality provide our patients with comfort and a thoughtful first impression receive when they walk through our door. Anna graduated from York College with a Bachelors degree in Health Promotion and Management. A long time New Yorker, Anna was born in Minsk, Belarus. When not working she loves to spend time with her two children who she says, “they are my life. We do everything together.”

Michelle

Michelle is a front desk administrator at Modern Dentistry, as well as the operator of the Patient Appreciation Program- which recognizes and rewards our valued patients. Michelle is also responsible for making sure to always keep our patients up to date with everything going on here at Modern Dentistry through social media such as Facebook and twitter. Originally from Great Bend, Kansas, where she studied music at Barton County College, Michelle can play 13 musical instruments, and loves volunteering in her community and watching old films. Bringing out the beautiful smile of Modern Dentistry’s patients is her favorite part of work!

Yasha

As one of Modern Dentistry’s dental assistants, Yasha more than anything values being able to help patients and making them feel safe. Born in Kiev Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, Yasha has lived all over the east coast, from Philadelphia to Florida. He’s since returned to Brooklyn and started with Modern Dentistry in 2012. When not working, Yasha enjoys playing video games and spending time with his son, Sasha and his wife Iryna.

Bronya

Bronya has been with Modern Dentistry for nearly 20 years now, and there’s nothing she loves more than assisting her patients- Other than spending time with her six grandchildren, that is. In her 18 years as a dental assistant with Modern Dentistry, Bronya has been able to impart her oral hygiene experience to her patients (some of whom have been coming to Modern Dentistry for as long as we’ve been open!). Bronya is originally from Moldova, and studied at Kishinev Dental College.

Patrick Coyne

Patrick Coyne is a native of Philadelphia and is a graduate of Temple University. He has a BA in advertising and marketing and over 3 years experience in online marketing. He joined Modern Dentistry in 2012 as Marketing Director and enjoys helping new patients find the information they need when searching for a dental services in Brooklyn. when not working, Patrick enjoys writing, reading and baseball. He currently resides in Long Island.
